Car Show, Hopping Contest and Concert

Lowrider Nationals is the highly awaited custom car show known as one of the largest in the nation and the only one offering Championship Rings to the best car and the best bicycle. The event is a large scale showcase in a festival atmosphere featuring customized lowriders and imports, luxury vehicles and SUVs.

From original lowriders and old school aficionados to the young urban enthusiast looking for ideas, this show brings together thousands of sports enthusiasts from as far away as Chicago, Indiana, Texas, Arizona and Nevada.

Since 1996
The Lowrider Nationals was founded in 1996 to present a Lowrider show that captures the essence of the Lowrider spirit. This spirit has embraced the entire urban car culture to include Euros and Dubs. Together with a family friendly atmosphere, this is the premier showcase of the automobile in a creative and expressive manner.

The first Lowrider Nationals show was held in 1996, organized by a Bakersfield enthusiast with the goal of elevating the custom car sport to a new level. By offering larger cash prizes and championship rings, the word spread that this was the place to compete. It's popularity as the event of the summer continues to grow.





New Team

2005 promises to take Lowrider Nationals to a still higher level under the direction of a new team of urban entertainment, marketing and event production professionals.

The Lowrider Nationals showcases the best custom cars in the sport of lowriding. Attendees cheer the car hopping competitors, move to the sounds of live entertainment, browse the wares and products offered by vendors and delight in outdoor sampling of food and drink.

The Prizes
Cash prizes totaling over $20,000, championship rings, trophies and awards for best hopper, custom hydraulic cars, bikes and regular show cars are awarded in seven National Title categories - Single Pump Car, Single Pump Truck, Double Pump Car, Double Pump Truck, Luxury, Car Dancer and Truck Dancer.

The Urban Car Culture Lifestyle and Market

It's influence is permeating mainstream in television, movies, chart topping music and automobile design.

Californians have a long-running love affair with automobiles and nowhere is this more true than in Southern California. Drive through any neighborhood on a weekend and you see people washing and polishing cars, people under the hood working on their cars and others simply enjoying riding in their cars.

For many car enthusiasts, modifying their cars through creative paint jobs, elaborately upholstered interiors, exotic wheels and tires, and other techniques is a tradition, a hobby, a sport and for many also a lucrative business all driving a multi-million dollar industry. From "lowriders" to performance-enhanced compact cars, to restored classics, Euros and Dubs, they are all part of the Southern California car scene.

The phenomenon cuts across demographic lines of age, education and income. Stereotypes are not applicable when you see a man in his fifties driving a low-rider with his wife and grandchildren along for the ride. Just as most people who like to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles are not "outlaws," most car enthusiasts are law-abiding, responsible citizens. Those who automatically connect the words "lowrider" with "gang-banger" do so out of ignorance.

Marketing and Promotion

Promotional activities will extend throughout key California and Southwest markets. Handbills and posters, an aggressive street campaign and online messaging will ensure a highly successful show.

Cruzin TV Show

The show's reach will be expanded via a special television show feature by Cruzin TV airing on two national networks bringing the Lowrider Nationals to millions of fans unable to attend.

Lowrider Nationals has consistently been featured in the top enthusiast magazines such as: Lowrider Magazine and local news shows and magazines worldwide. Univision's "Control", a national magazine show featuring entertainment news and music videos, has featured Lowrider Nationals for the last two years. For 2005, OMMPR, a multicultural public relations agency, will execute a regional, national and targeted international public relations campaign promising the most media coverage yet.
